Power Windows Down & Smoking Wires 95 960 900

I have a major wiring problem with my 95 960 sedan. Yesterday two of the windows went down - all on their own, and would not go up again. In particular the drivers side rear window would not go with either the local or the drivers switch.

Today, I went to a wrecker and got a replacement set of switches for both the drivers side master, and the DS passenger. The windows worked intermittantly, and then again the DS rear went down on its own without anyone touching the switches. On investigation the fuse for the power windows was extremely hot, and the plug to the drivers master switch to the rear windows was super hot. Then two wires from the switch assembly started smoking, the two to the on/off on the dsrivers master control. So, the fuse is out, and the swiutched unplugged.

It seems to be a short, but I REALLY need a hand figuring out where the shore may be, and HOW to trace it to source. Ideas appreciated, gotta get this fixed ASAP.
