OD Relay Location and Repair 700 1989

I've been Volvo-less for a couple of years after selling my much-loved 965, but just acquired a very nice '89 740 auto-trans w/ on 100k on the clock, but it is displaying the UP Arrow, and there is no "Click" when I press the OD switch.

As I remember the 700/900 BOTH have the OD relay mounted in front of the center console? Just how much does one have to disassemble to get at it, and which relay is it back there?

I did a search and learned that the relays typically fail due to bad solder joints that can sometimes be repaired, and it referred me to the 700/900 FAQs, except I can not seem to locate the FAQs (which I thought used to me listed on the right side under the index.

Have they been relocated somewhere else?

I have ordered a Shop Manual CD from ebay (sounds like a pirated copy of a Volvo shop manual, but not sure). Sure wish Bentley had made one for the 700 Series!

Thanks all,
Bob
