Electric cooling fan circuit 700 1990

I just replaced the electric fan on my 1990 744T. The one that was on the car was essentially frozen, and I found a working (I tested it) unit in a junkyard. I'm presuming the thermo switch at the right top of the radiator is the switch for this fan. Is that correct? I tried shorting the contacts together (with the motor running...), but no fan movement. If that isn't the thermo switch for the fan, where would I find that?

Is there a relay for this fan? Is it in the relay block inside the car or elsewhere?

Any tips appreciated!
