looking at these; thoughts? 700

I would stay away from the 91 740 with a probable improper alarm install unless you're whiz with these things and have installed countless of them yourself. Here's why: Years ago someone gave my daughter a Bulldog remote start kit for her Sunfire for Christmas. Of course, she wanted it in right away and I spent countless hours out in the snow in the driveway installing it. Turned out the kit needed an additional module from Walmart for the anti theft interlock and the only one they had was a newer substitute version. Long story short, there were wire colours that didn't match the instructions and useless help on the Internet and after I was done it still didn't work. Worse yet, the car would keep its interior lights on and start running down the battery when parked, until the GM special feature to prevent this kicked in after 10 minutes. We ended up removing all the interior bulbs. Occasionally, the car would fail to start when the mess of wires under the dash shifted, requiring more zip ties and duct tape to keep everything in place. I had no desire to go back in there in the winter and tear it all out because I'd lost my confidence to get all the connections and wires back as they were. She eventually traded the car in on a new one and I pity anyone who tried to rectify the mess when they discovered it. The car was probably junk. Now I'm no dummy when it comes to car electrics. I've installed lots of radios, simple alarms, gauges, remote fan switches, you name it. But when it comes to modern alarms or remote starters, I would recommend paying a pro the $100 or whatever to do it and be responsible for troubleshooting if something goes wrong. As for a botched installation, it could be a money pit if something goes wrong and you don't know what it could be.
