'92 240 Stalls At Startup After Putting Into DRIVE or REVERSE

I have a 92 240 station wagon with automatic transmission. It will start but have to put my foot of the brake and rev the engine to keep it running. It will sometimes run for a short period of time like it is hitting on three cylinders and then stall. If I put in DRIVE or REVERSE it will immediately stall. I replaced the RPM (Crank?) sensor. Any advice would be most welcome.
