Sudden MPG Drop - 25 to 19!! - ('87 244 5 speed) 200 1987

This one has god me pretty confused. I have had a sudden (literally one tank to the next) drop in MPG in the last few weeks. I went from 22-25 (22 being when I drove poorly and with the AC on, 25 when I was nicer to the brick) down to 17 seemingly overnight.

I am trying to figure out what happened to make it drop so drastically. A couple of my theories:
1. Rear end collision - My tailpipe was bent slightly in a collision, the bend is after the muffler so I am iffy on this one.
2. AAM - I bought a 'new' AAM on ebay after I had some stalling out issues. I was going to toss the old one back in and see if that helps- but then the intermittent stalling will come back.
3. AC - It has gotten hotter and I fixed the AC over the winter so I am not sure how much of a drop I should attribute to the compressor running.

Anything else I may have missed? Anything that could have got knocked loose after the collision? Yes- i clean my flame trap regularly and yes, I keep my tire pressure coanstant.

Cheers, John
