Changing a piston dust boot 900

Hi all,
I am in the middle of a brake job on my car. I noticed that I have a torn piston dust boot. I would like to replace it and noticed that you can buy caliper repair kits that seem to have new dust boots. Is the dust boot something that I can just take off and replace with a new one, or is it more complicated that that? Do I have to remove the piston to replace the dust boot or can I just take off the old dust boot and pop a new one on?

Thanks so much!
