Is it blow blue smoke out the tail pipe? If not then your probably OK. Mine started using alot of oil and burning it in the turbo and send blue smoke out the back. It got really bad and I took the turbo off to rebuild it. and it was beyond help. I found a used one on e-bay that had been rebuilt works great. Check the play on the impeller if it's loose and you have the time and money. Have it rebuilt before it gets too bad. Its not that had to do it yourself. Rebuild kits are about $85.00 to $150.00 depending on what turbo you have.
