Quality of aftermarket front wheel hubs? 700 1989

Have you checked with Tasca Volvo (www.tascavolvoparts.com) yet? I got a genuine Volvo hub from them when my car needed it, price was very reasonable. In fact, the price was low enough that it made more sense to buy the genuine part for the quality and reliability.

As of today, about 10:30ish a.m. Tasca gets $102.60 for the genuine part, and FCP gets $99 for the ScanTech. Tasca may get a bit more for the shipping, but the overall difference in total price will be very little.

I can't say much good about ScanTech parts, from my experience. Would prefer SKF-made, genuine Volvo bearing.

By the way, did you know that SKF was originally the parent company of Volvo? It's true. SKF set up a division or subsidiary to market a special type of bearing under the latin for "I roll," but never used the division. Several years later two executives talked the SKF board into making cars and they used the as-yet unused "Volvo" (means "I roll") division. Success followed and a few years later, by 1935, I think, SKF wound up taking the Volvo division public as its own company on the Swedish stock exchange.

Kind of gives another good reason to stick with SKF, in addition to SKF's outstanding quality.
