Vehicle: 1989, 240 DL Wagon
The rear cargo door brake light on a 240 DL wagon I am currently working on does not work. The fuses, the bulbs [tried 3], brake light switch, brake light ground wire, left and right brake lights, and the first hot wire connector for the cargo door brake light [located inside the cargo door], all check out ok. I checked for voltage at the bulb socket wiring and the meter indicates there is a very small amount of voltage, and even those numbers drop while looking at them registering on the meter. Seems to be a huge voltage drop.
I also ran a continuity test for the Blue/SB hot wire, from the Bulb Failure Sensor, to the bulb socket at the cargo end. There is no continuity. So, I assume there is an open somewhere along the hot wire path.
According to the Bentley Wiring Schematic, there are two wire connectors, one is in the cargo door, and that one checked out ok. I need to check the other connector, the one closes to the front of the vehicle and furthest away from the cargo door. Since the wiring harness is solid black, its a guess as to where it is located, and Bentley does not indicate where.
Does anyone know where the second wiring connector for the blue/SB hot wire is located? [the one that is forward of the cargo door] ... don't feel like takin the whole inside apart!
