Either way, you or me - I have no special skills in that regard. I'm curious, as Chris notes, life predictions by mileage are rarely so accurate. As you know, the only one I've necropsied had 142K on it and about 1/2 through the commutator thickness, so more examples would reinforce Steve's certainty on the common failure mode.
