What's the best way to get trim adhesive off lower door trim 200

I am trying to re-stick the lower door trim to the doors. The tape goo was not sticky enough to keep it on the door, but it sure does not want to come off trim. I have been scraping and scraping, but there is still lots left. I have tried GooGone solvent but it's not working. Does anyone know what type of solvent will take this stuff off? I don't want to apply the new trim tape over old goo.

I was tempted to just leave the trim off. I actually like the older school look, but there are holes in the doors under the trim that don't seem to have any real purpose, other that to stop you from leaving the trim off. The only purpose I can figure is to make it easy to line up the trim on the assembly line or maybe to stop it from sliding off the door.
