Fuel line leaking update in my 965 - with PHOTOS this time 900 1993

So I will attempt to post photos along with this query.
My fuel line was disconnected a week ago whilst I was looking for the problem to my car (1993 965) not starting. It was not fuel and not spark but it was Lawnmower Syndrome.

So, upon buttoning up the car I reattached the fuel line but now it is leaking like crazy. The only thing I can think is that the flared end is not sitting flush with the beveled end, but looking closely at it I don't believe that to be true. I really like this car and I can certainly take it to be fixed but I just don't know what a professional would do to it - what could possibly be the cause?

the ONLY thing I can think of is to change out the rubber line to the fuel rail BUT it does not seem to be leaking from that joint but rather the metal to metal connection. Confounding.

Does anyone have a spare rubber line to sell for cheap to test my theory?

Thanks for any help you can offer. I posted HTML links to the photos (having issues with gallery view). you can also view the other photos by browsing the stream in Flickr
