blower motor question: grinding off the spacers (and gawd what a vile project this is!!) 200

Hi all,

I'm replacing the blower motor in my son's '83 240. I've got the old motor out, and am ready to remove the spacers. I'm going to pick a cutoff tool for my Dremel, cut the spacers off, then smooth it flat.

One thing scares me: is there enough thread left after removing the spacers to hold the motor firmly? Or should I plan on having to use a nut on the backside?

monty
