REMOVAL of EGR 200

I have a 1976 265 (B27F) with about 90,000 miles. Runs good, but idles poorly when I put it into gear.

The tube that runs from the EGR down to exhaust pipe is broken. It makes a little noise, but my bigger concern is that it is contributing to the poor idle.

If I totally remove the EGR, besides plugging the intake manifold outlet that leads to the EGR and plugging the vacuum lines, are there any other issues I should be concerned about?
