245 240 Wagon Antenna Mast Replacement 89-93 200 1989

I was very disappointed today to see that the d-pillar mount antenna mast ONLY (no base or cable) at FCPG is now something like $37. I've always thought the price of this little diddy, same for 89-93 wagons, was a little high. Now it's simply ludicrous, so I went web-browsing. I found that Metra has a unit in the Roadworks line, number AW-RM01B that fits perfectly--or nearly so. This is "cellular style", and so it has a little coiled section in the middle. For $7 though, I can live with that. It fits right on the threaded stub of the antenna base and did not require any of the little adapters that came with. To smooth the transition from the bottom of the antenna to the threaded collar on the base mount I used a small piece of 5/16" fuel line. I believe there is an equivalent from Balkamp. In fact, I'd bet this is a Balkamp unit, but Napa had it in stock as Metra.
