Cleaning the 25 Amp Inline Fuse Off The Battery 200 1984

Howdy-

I'm still doing mechanical triage, as funds are available. I think the 25 amp fuse may be the culprit to some of my minor starting/hesitation issues...based on what I've replaced over the last year. I've searched the FAQ, but have found nothing in the time I have to devote...so, my apologies if I'm missing something.

I've pulled the fuse and cleaned it, which is elementary. I think the holder contacts are pretty oxidized, from what I can see. It's an OEM part, it appears to be original most likely. My question is, can it be opened to give good access to clean the contacts? I just don't want to risk opening it if it's not meant to be opened...since Olga is my daily driver and I'd be sunk if I had no car due to cracking something. My Indie in town specializes in Volvos/Saabs, should I just get a new holder? I don't have any fancy crimping tools besides the basic one most households had until recently, so I'm unsure if I could install a new one myself. Lastly, can a plastic baggie or something be placed around the holder/fuse to slow oxidation? I have it un-clipped and pointing downwards to minimize moisture spray. I clean my interior fuses at least 3 times a year (thanks to a pesky windshield leak right above the fuse panel)...and I think learning how to properly clean the 25A one would be a benefit.
