1989 240 stalls after 20 miles 200

I have a friend who has an 89 Canadian Volvo 240 with 2.3L and Bosch fuel injection and ignition. He drives it about 20 miles both ways to and from work. The problem he is having is that just about at the 20 mile mark everyday it will stall. It starts up if he lets it sit for a minute or so. I suggested a coil going bad but we changed that it didn't make a difference. In my opinion it is related to the warming up of the engine althiough I am not familiar with this system. MY old 249 still has a carburetor. Any ideas about where to look to get to the bottom of this would be appreciated as always. Thanks.
