Sunroof question 700 1992

The sunroof on a friend's 740 will close but when closing it, the popup flap in the front has to be pulled down manually. I looked at it, and when the panel gets close to the end to close, the flap starts dropping, but stops short of fully laying down flat, necessitating manual help.

I have noticed when it is fully closed, the back of the panel is slightly depressed down and not flush with the car. I THINK this might be the problem.

How can I adjust the panel to basically raise the back so the front slider can do it's job? Or is it something else?
