A/C Hose repair question 900

There is a pinhole leak in the A/C low pressure hose. The leak is in the area where the hose fitting is crimped to the rubber hose and is easily accessible. The leak is slow, but enough to keep the system from remaining fully charged.

Before I open the system by removing the hose for repair, I'm wondering if there is any product such as JB Weld or some epoxy concoction that will hold the leak. I'd much rather avoid having to evacuate and recharge the system, if possible.

The son-in-law put an epoxy patch of some sort (not sure what), but I can see from the dye marks that it's still leaking.

Thoughts?
