240 window problems 200 1989

A few weeks ago, I bought a well-cared for 1989 245 that had lots of little issues (and a few big issues, which I've already fixed). One of them is the front passenger window. These are manual (crank) windows, BTW.

It jumped the track frequently for the prior owner, and repeatedly forcing it up and down scratched the glass, bent the metal tab that holds the window clamp to the lift mechanism, and shredded the rubber channel guides. So after a trip to the local p&p, I have a nice OE window and good rubber from a 1993. Which I have installed, and all works fine--except that if you roll the window all the way down, it jumps out of the track on the hinge side of the door. So clearly there is an underlying fault that I didn't remedy.

What have I done wrong? Is there a bump stop that's missing (I didn't see one in the 2 cars I had apart at the p&p), or is there some way to realign stuff or limit the travel of the lift arms? This the first car I've owned that's required window work, so I'm clueless.
