a tire question/problem 200

My own personal preferences would have had the used tire on the rear and probably on the passenger's side.

Being of unknown quality and age I would make the assumption that if any tire on the car was questionable it would be the new used tire purchase.

If it were to fail I would want it at the rear so as to minimize any sudden steering wierdness.

I would prefer the passenger's side at the rear with the thinking that if it fails and started to pull it would most likely pull to that side; not towards the center line (assuming a 2 lane road, I guess).

I think above all else I would advise him to slow down a bit. Things happen at a slower pace at slower speeds.
