Accessory fan diagnosis question for A/C 200 1993

The auxillary accessory fan on the front of the 240 works, in that, when it is unplugged and 12V directly from the battery is put to it, the fan runs. Pressure in the system is fine. Air that is blowing is cold (as a 240 can).

My question is: here in the Memphis heat, I get out of the car in a 98 degree day after driving around town (heat index WAY above 100 degrees) and the accessory fan on the front is not kicking on. How could I find out why it is not? Is there a relay or a way to test the relay to this fan? Any help appreciated.

thanks
