'89 240 error codes 214 & 144 200

Sometimes have problems starting car. Also, engine runs erratic when cold.
Got 214 error code(speed sensor sig. missing) then replaced speed sensor. Still have same running problems and unable to clear 214 error code. Also get 144 error code: Load signal missing.
Any ideas?
