Not all 940s have cam mounted distributor? 900

I just brought another 940. It obviously has the Regina system which I've yet to own. The posts seem to think their not as solid as the Bosch. Anything to add?

I wasn't aware this meant the distributor was back in it's old spot of the intermediate gear like the 240. What's the hat on the end of the cam for? Any reason to update it?

It's listed as a 94 on the title but date of manufacture was 9/93. So I'm guessing no crank squirts either?

On the up side it's an original owner w/only 107K miles, but the kids aren't thrilled at the prospect of 4 white 940s.(next to the white 240)
Thanks
