Installing a R134a compressor on a R12 system? 700

91-780 & R134 converted. Got his car with inop AC. Found a corroded line & replaced it. During charging the clutch started shooting sparks. Great. At the pull a part I looked for the best compressor I could find. I grabbed a Seltec R134 comp. & it was on a 90-91 740. The rest of the system on this car looked R 12 stock.

Are there any issues with using this comp.? Couldn't find anything in the FAQ or search relating to this question. Could this comp. possibly work better? And is the orifice valve at the evaporator connection? Don't see a buldge in the line going down the frame rail.

Thanks Dave
