in-tank pump modifcation needed 700

They sent you the wrong hose: get the accordion style. See FCPGroton:

And the pump is spring loaded to allow the assembly to fit back in the tank: there is no need to cut any metal tubes. The float moves freely inside the tan tube: you can shake it to find out. Your dealer is a moron. See the FAQ for tips.
