Oil Sending Unit Wire Broken 200 1985

I noticed that the wire broke off the top of the oil sending unit on my 85 240DL(I think that's what it is, it is located directly forward of the oil filter coming out of the engine block). The wire broke off inside the harness that also contains a couple of wires from the alternator. I would like to run a new wire from the sending unit to ????. Where can I splice the new wire?

Thanks
