Bear with me as I explain the issue with my brick. I am hoping to get some help to solve this with your help…
I have a ’82 245 GL with K-jet. The wagon runs very well, especially after replacing numerous sensors and fixing some deteriorated wires/harnesses. It just purrs. A few days ago, the brick stalled on the interstate. No warning. One moment it was cruising just fine, and the next moment it stalled cold. It has been happening almost every time I take the wagon out. I just replaced in-tank and main pump yesterday as the main pump was making irregular sound and it seemed getting louder. I was hoping that it may have been the culprit of the stalling problem…I just drove it this morning and stalled again.
It always stalls after putting it through some load, like, going up hills, highway, accelerate. Although it may just stalls after the engine warms up. I don’t know. It doesn’t give me any problems starting. When it stalls, I need to make it to complete stop, put in “P”, crank a few times/tries, then it fires up. Sometimes it stalls again in the same trip (usually during my 10- mile highway commute.)
Do you folks have any idea what may be problem here? I am very puzzled. As my diagnosis ability seems below this issue, I need your expertise. Have a great day and hope to hear some good advises from you soon…
