Air bubble, Hot (gauge said normal), injector cleaner, valve noise, and AARGH! 700

90 740 tic
Went to drive out of town today and stopped at a light after the car had warmed up. It's had this annoying coolant air bubble in the upper radiator hose that I haven't been able to get rid of for months.
I pulled up to a light to make a u-turn and the car started missing intermittently. It happened about every 2 seconds and felt like it nearly died. I could feel the engine lose momentum briefly.

I drove across the street to kragen, grabbed coolant, and got to the car.
I let it cool off for 20 minutes, then tried to add coolant.
The air bubble had completely blocked the upper rad hose. I had to milk the air out of the hose with the air bleed hose, and finally added some straight coolant. (I've been adding mostly water for months).
I could feel hot coolant at the thermostat housing, so I don't think the air bubble traveled back into the head.

The problem is that it's still doing the intermittent miss, and is stumbling under load.
I normally get about 180 miles before I get gas (broken gauge) and have gone 120.
I poured a bottle of injector cleaner into the tank last night and forgot about it this morning. I hadn't gotten gas yet.

I don't think the engine got hot enough to do any damage, BUT there does seem to be more valve noise than usual. No loud unique stuff like a burned seat or anything, but the usual noise is just louder.

What do you guys think is causing the miss? I think it may be partly because of the injector cleaner. It's really cheap (2 for $2 at kragen) and says it treats up to 21 gallons. I haven't gotten gas yet, I aborted the trip and went back to my mom's house.
The car's cooling off now, I'm going to get gas later, then going to check into other things.

I have no engine codes. Then I pulled the AMM to see if it ran better, and it ran much worse. When I opened the throttle, the car bogged and almost stalled.
The oil looks clean and perfect, not like a blown head gasket.
I just put new silicone plug wire holders on the car because the old plastic ones had warped, one had fallen off, and burned through the insulation.

Help.
