Really Neat technology.. Mercedes has a series with this auto braking already. I don't know what it does about getting rearended after your car decided to stop for you.

I'm a fan of Reducing Sensors and other electrical instrumentation that can go wrong or go out of calibration. So I wont be jumping on the "I need one of these" bandwagons.
I think ABS and traction control has contributed to as many acidents as help avoid some. "gee, I didn't know the road was full of black Ice until I went around that On-Ramp too fast."
