Advice on Common Issues / Seeking Local Hobbiest (Spokane/Pullman, WA/ Moscow/Lewsiton, ID) 200 1984

My 240 DL wagon is on the road and my first repair is coming up: replacing the pre-pump. I'm pretty confident I can handle this on my own with my service manual and a little help from my neighbor, but I am concerned about future issues that are more commonly occurring. I am looking for suggestions on what I might keep on hand for road trips, just in case something goes haywire.

Also, there are no Volvo dealers around for jobs that I am not fit for, so I am looking for a local Volvo hobbiest who might be interested in some work when repairs are needed. I'm not looking to get crazy with my Volvo, but I'm interested in keeping it is decent shape and establishing a relationship with someone who knows a little more than me.

And how do I upload a picture of my damn car?
