Heater question 140-160 1970

the heater control valve should cut off the flow of hot water, but... it will always be warm under there I think. SOunds like your valve may not fully be closing. Check that it moves at all with the thumbwheel control.. could be that the cable is out of adjustment, or maybe not hooked up, or broken, or the cable sheath isn't being grabbed tight enough and is slipping.

Likely a combination of the above.
