new-to-me 1997 965. question on clunk after shifting into drive S90-V90

typically i would think this is a trans mount or a driveshaft bearing but it doesn't exhibit the same klunk as my 1993 965 had when those pieces went south. it almost feels like the control arm or a caliper. is there any known issue with these components or with what i am describing as a problem?

thanks
