We went for a drive last night and the needle rested at the very bottom of the temperature gauge-where it is positioned when the car is turned off. I gave it a smack on the dash above the gauge and it started moving up. It hovered around the 7/8 o'clock position.

I will be bypassing the temperature compensation board ASAP.
