Quirky A/C Vents 200 1992

Had the A/C redone with a new compressor, etc. last year--it's now using r134A
refrigerant. All went fine until recently noticed when driving at normal road speed, the both vents arbitrarily closed on the front passenger side. The driver's side continued to work although the air did not feel quite as cold.

The problem occurs sometime when changing the fan speed up or down, but there really is no set pattern.

Usually when the car is parked and restarted everything works correctly for a while then the problem comes back. Yesterday, it was the driver's side that had problems. Any ideas?

Thanks, fellow brickheads!
