95 960 Window Rear Door Drivers Side 900

I have been working on a problem for a while now. The D/S rear window works intermittently. Here are the symptoms.

First the rear window would intermittently work. On one occasion it went down on its own, me outside the car. Then the on/off switch for the rear window child safety lock had wires that smoked and melted the insulation. Plus the power window fuse got extremely hot.

I think the motor is ok because if I can run 12 volts to the plug and get it back up again.

To date I have replaced the D/S on/off switch, driver switch for the D/S rear window, and the switch on the rear door itself. It seems like an open circuit or bad ground, but I not an engineer, so ideas welcome.
