B20 valve lash 120-130

I recently set the valve lash in my son’s ’69 Amazon, with a ’74 B20B, at the green manual value of .020" - .022”. Usually I set the lash in my B18D at .017” - .019”, although I have seen specs for the later B18D of .018” - .020”. My son’s engine seems unhealthily noisy and I’m wondering what’s to be lost if I tighten it up a bit, say to .018” - .020”. Any thoughts from the B20 experts out there? I believe, but I don’t know for sure, that the engine has the C cam.

Cheers,
