Front Seat Compatibility Question for the '72 1800 1800

I came across a gentleman in a red 1800 in NE Portland, OR. He had Toyota MR2 seats installed. They had to be the most amazingly comfortable car seats I've ever sat in (personal opinion, obviously), and they had sufficient bolstering on the sides to hold you in. That was my biggest complaint about the stock seats in my '70 1800E.. A flat metal rack with flat padding, upon which I'd sit my flat butt. Lot's of lateral sliding would occur, especially considering the seats were worn out to the point that the pad was sitting loosely on the metal frame.

I'm not sure what year the MR2 seats were but my uneducated guess would be mid to late '80s. They had plenty of adjustments too, including an adjustment for the pad that is located at the front edge of the seat, right below the backs of your knees. Mmm, I was so jealous. Great lumbar support too. I'd love to have a set.
