82 GLT, does it NEED to run on premium?

82 sedan for sale that the owner seems to have maintained.

He's askin 1,000 for a car with surface rust. Overall it's pretty decent looking, and drives...well like an 82 Volvo would.

Mileage is high, but I was wondering what kind of fuel economy can I expect to get? currently he claims it gets about 400kms to a tank, and about 500 after a tune-up. During the test drive I could actually see the fuel needle slowly dropping. I bleiv ethis car has the B23e

Also it's 4 speed+OD
