Front Wiper Motor Disassembly 200 1983

While amidst the whoa of a possibly blown heady, im doing my best to keep the old chin up, and working on other small stuff.

Ok, my front wiper has been hecktic since reciving the car. It sometimes wipes like its moving through almost set concrete or not at all, and other times its like a freaking blizkrieg with no stop, unless i find this little sweet spot on the steering coloum that will inevitably freeze it where ever it so pleases.

To the point,
I decided to investigate the motor. I was careful to open er up. (after reading threads such as this one)http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/volvo/1352491/220/240/260/280/240_wiper_issue.html

Two of the small magnets backed by springs are completely loose. From what I can see, it doesnt look like anythings broken or missing, but they were jossling around the shaft of the central assembly, and dang near shot my eye out. The other of the 3 was secured by the slide which it sits in, and seems to be unmovable.

Is this the typical setup? Thanks

Joe
