Relay on AC for Engine Fan on 1993 940? 900 1993

I have been adding a little Freon 134R to my daughter's 1993 940 and noticed that the engine fan did not turn on when the AC was turnied on. This, in addition to a low Freon level, explains the poor cooling performance of her AC. In reading the FAQs I believe the fan should be operating at all times the AC is turned on. It certainly does on my 1994 940. I assume there is a relay which is not working. Is this correct? If so, can anyone tell me where it is? The fan does work since it operates correctly when the engine reaches the appropriate temperature. I can short the connections on the radiator thermostat to force the fan to operate while charging the system so know that the AC system works correctly with the exception of the fan. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Ron
