780 Floorboard Lights 700 1989

Well im off to my next task on my 780 and its the drivers side floor board light, it will not illuminate normally ( Door Open Close ), I pulled the unit from its hole and have Zero across pos/neg, so i checked POS to Brake Pedal ( Ground ) and it illuminated, now my question, i pulled the carpet and followed it into the wire harness then pulled the fuse panel up to see the wire continue to what i think is the passenger side floor board ( i havent pulled the carpet yet ) anyone have any clue of the wiring or per say operation of these light's? the passenger side light works fine. Im thinking somewhere along the line the light has to intersect with the door switch but where, the Door's Red Light Work's as well as the interior lights when the door is opened.
