Hi there,

You're in good company it seems. Hardly a week goes by I don't read of someone having issues after replacing the gear.

That it worked for a week is a new twist to the usual syndrome, but you've got no choice but to retrace your steps and look carefully at what has been done.

Beyond obvious mechanical binding or chunks of the old gear caught up in the works, the "board" or "motor" problems are what I expect from handling the motor during replacement. Its three electrical connections are suspect, both where they are soldered on the board, and soldered inside the motor, to the pins. Seems they don't like to be messed with after 20 years in hiding.
