2.4 ecu cooling fan 700

Awhile back I had a parts 940 turbo with an E-Fan on it. I used the ECU from that car, ran a wire through the harness to the E-Fan control pin on that ECU to the relay pack and an the E-Fan that was now in my 780. I wish to do that same conversion to my 240 (I know this is the 7xx forum but late 7xx's and 9xx's are the only RWD 2.4 controlled cars that had an E-Fan on occasion). I know gas savings and freed power is questionable--but every little bit does ad up and since it was a factory Volvo item it's pretty cheap to do. So my question is do all of the 2.4's come pre-built to control an E-Fan or is it only certain ones (on a car with the fan) that have the additional software and hardware control for the relay?
