thermostat: "cooler climates' 900

hi, I'm trying to select the correct thermostat for my climate. I looked on the FAQ page and it designates 92C as the standard thermostat. Shopping online I found a selection of 3 thermostats for the 940: 82, 87, and 92 degrees C. The 92C thermostat has is designated for "cool" climates, but this does not specify a degree range.

Does anybody have more specific guidelines about the temperature range that might qualify as "cool"? Or just the rationale for selecting the correct thermostat? I live in the SF bay area where it is regularly cool, but never really cold (I do drive up to the snow each winter, though), and occasionally hot.
