Throttle body cleaning 200

You need to clean the TB from the backside or it's only half the job. Get a new gasket or you risk vacuum leaks. Remove the TB, being careful of the throttle linkage connectors...pry them off gradually. I remove the Throttle Switch at this point, as I've seen posts here stating that the old carb/choke cleaners can damage it - and they are what I use. If there is a product specifically for cleaning TB's that says it is safe for the TS, try it. Make sure to spray the cleaner into the little air passages in the TB. Compressed air to blow them out is nice to have.

When connecting up the vacuum hoses, check that they are not hardened and stiff, and still fit the stubs snugly. Otherwise - new hoses.

If you removed the TS, make sure it 'clicks' just as the throttle plate/butterfly starts to open. Very easy to check and adjust this with the TB sitting in your hand. I double check mine with an ohmmeter after everything is back together and linkage hooked up.
