OD question 140-160

I finally got my 68 144 back together and on the road. I had changed the BW35 to a M41.

I'm not sure the OD is working or not. With engine off and key on I can hear the solenoid clicking. On a flat road in 4th I engage OD and nothing seems to happen. The exhaust is a bit loud with one muffler. Shouldn't the OD engagement be something you would feel?

I bought the OD and had not used it before. It looked in good shape. I put an O-ring kit in it after cleaning it up real good. I spent the winter putting the O-ring kit in with great care. I tested the solenoid and it seemed ok. I should have looked closer at the plunger. I had instructions with the O-ring kit that came from a board member. Oil level is fine and I cleaned the OD filter really well.

Any thoughts on this? I have two other solenoids I could try. I assume you get a oil bath when you change it.
