Anyone remove the differential ? 200 1985

Hi All,I have a 85 244ti auto and replaced all the trailing arm bushings, tork rod bushings 2 years ago so that's why I don't want to change out the entire rear end.Is there any year I need to stay away from? I read some where some drive shafts are shorter then others. Is there anything I need to know like problems on removal, special tools to take to the pic&pull? I have in the past pulled rears on other cars that after the driveshaft and axles where pulled you pull the bolts around the rear it pulled out.I see that there are 2 bolts on each side of the gears do they come out seperate? And then the pinion gear?My car has the speedometer gear in the tail shaft of the trans. Can I use a rear that has the spedo sensor in the rear or do I need to go with the later model? I think my rear is 3.91:1 for turbo's so can I use the closest 3.73:1 if I can't find the 3.91:1 or what should I look for? Thanks for any help, Charlie
