I'm lost on what else to do. 1991 740 Regina. Since purchasing it nearly 2 years ago to crank it you have always had to turn the key and hold it in the crank position and let it spin over a couple of times and then turn the key back to the off position and then turn it back to the crank position where it would immediately crank up and run like a dream. Now it won't crank up unless you squirt ether into the intake and then it will crank right up and run great. I did this the other day and made a 60 mile trip in it.
There are no check engine lights illuminated. Here's what I've replaced so far: RPM sensor, maf, fuel pump relay, radio suppresion relay, coil and power amp. I also pulled the hose off of the fuel pressure regulator to check it out.
Its firing perfectly. Obviously its a fuel problem where whatever gives the "initial" squirt of fuel for start up isn't working. But what is confusing me is that there are no check engine lights lit. So I figure it must be something mechanical not electrical or at least not electrical in the sense that it doesn't trip the cel. The fuel pump hums like its supposed to when you turn the key to the on position and the car runs great once you get it cranked. It doesn't matter if the car is hot or cold...still requires a squirt of ether in the intake to crank.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
